On arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to Negombo. Relax after your journey, enjoy the coastal setting, and settle into your hotel for a restful start to the tour.
Travel north to Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka’s first ancient capital. In the afternoon, explore its monumental stupas, monasteries, and sacred sites that form one of the greatest archaeological legacies in South Asia.
Continue to Trincomalee, a historic city on the east coast. Visit the cliff-top Koneshwaram Temple, stroll through the lively fish market and local bazaar, and stop at a Kali temple before checking in to your hotel.
An early start takes you on a dolphin-watching excursion in the Indian Ocean, followed by snorkeling among corals and tropical fish at Pigeon Island. Spend the afternoon enjoying sun and sand along Nilaveli beach before returning to Trincomalee.
Leave the coast behind and journey inland to Sigiriya. En route, experience a village encounter where you are introduced to traditional rural life, with the chance to enjoy a boat ride across a lake.
Climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress early in the morning, one of the island’s most iconic landmarks. Later, take a jeep safari through Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park, famous for elephants and birdlife.
Travel from Sigiriya to Kandy via Matale. Stop at the Dambulla Cave Temples, where centuries old statues and frescoes decorate vast cave shrines. Visit a spice garden and a batik craft workshop along the way. In the evening, visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, the country’s most revered Buddhist shrine.
This day is dedicated to exploring Kandy further. Begin with a walk through the Peradeniya Botanical Garden, admired for its orchids, palms, and landscaped beauty. Later, visit a gem shop to learn about Sri Lanka’s famous sapphires and a craft shop showcasing traditional artistry. Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure, relaxing at your hotel in the hill capital.
After breakfast, you may enjoy optional shopping in Kandy before being transferred to Bandaranaike International Airport for your departure flight.
